Happiness is not just a feeling.  it's a choice we make. To be or not to be.

Often times people will say "Do whatever makes you happy" Or "As long as that makes you happy", Well you're the only one who can choose to be happy or not to be happy, not things or other people. We might find pleasure in things or people, but ultimately we choose how they make us feel. It's important to know that, so we don't become self-destructive over what other people or things do. If someone hurts your feelings, know that they are without happiness, because a happy person does not feel the need to hurt others feelings. Brush it off, and don't let it bring you down, have your moment and move on. If you lost your job, don't be sad. Know that it was for a reason, you won't gain anything from sadness and despair. Move on to the next chapter. We're all travelers in this life and some things have to come to an end, maybe it's a job, maybe it’s a relationship, maybe it's a life. Know that the only thing that we will carry with us to the next life is our soul, so nurture it and don't destruct it with bad emotions and heedlessness.

This is very hard to think about in moments when were frustrated upset or stressed out, and that's okay because those emotions have their place and time as well. The most important part is understanding, that you are in charge of your happiness. Not blaming it on anything or anyone else. Know that we are in control of our own emotions. And that things happen to everyone of us, it's how you deal with your circumstances that matters.

Also know that you can be happy and upset at the same time. Sometimes we have to feel what we need to feel at the moment, we can't ignore that, but don't let it be your state of being.

Make intentions every day to choose happiness, and you will find yourself happy. We have so many things to be grateful for, what is there not to be happy about.
